NEW DELHI, May 6: A Karnataka Janata Dal MP, P Kodandaramaiah, today came out in defence of beleaguered Bihar Chief Minister and party president Laloo Prasad Yadav against whom the CBI intends to file a charge-sheet in the multi-crore fodder scam.
At a press conference here, he came down on the CBI director, Joginder Singh, who he held responsible for Laloo Prasad8217;s trial in the media. The announcement of the investigating agency8217;s intention to charge-sheet him was motivated and made to apply psychological pressure on the Bihar governor to accord sanction for the prosecution.
A former IPS officer, Kodandaramaiah does not enjoy a good equation with former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda but has been a staunch Laloo Prasad supporter.
In fact, it was the Janata Dal chief who got him a party ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections last year when Gowda refused.
