CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat wants the media focus to be on the Left8217;s campaign against the UPA Government, but while he plugs one hole in the party another opens up. Identifying the V S Pinarayi-Achuthanandan divide as the key troublespot for embarrassment, he recently told Kerala comrades that crucial issues related to the state 8212; like differences on SEZs between the two factions 8212; should be resolved locally without creating controversies before elections. But barely had he delivered the message to the Kerala comrades that West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee turned the heat on the party with his anti-bandh remarks. The churning is back, and so are uncomfortable times for Karat.
