Not a day passes without a politician leaving his or her party and joining another party which holds very different views. Shameless is the only word that can describe such politicians. They suddenly realise that they have been not respected by the party leadership read, not given enough crumbs. Some others stab their friends in the back and bury them to join hands with their erstwhile bitter enemies.
Is there any hope for a decent democracy in the country? And should there be elections based on parties?

BJP8217;s burden
8226; This refers to 8216;Censor scissors in the hands of BJP faithful8217; IE, February 24. I do not see anything wrong if the BJP inducts its own people in the censor board, even if they are more in number. So far the censor board has been used only to promote the dirty fantasies of the money hungry people from the industry. Only people favourably inclined to the ruling party were given the opportunity to be on the board.
The people know that the only party that can do something about a clean cinema is the BJP.

Carry on
8226; I have been a reader of your newspaper for the last few years. Having appreciated the large element of truthfulness in the demeanour of your
paper, I was greatly pleased when I came to know about the honour which the paper received recently. I congratulate the Indian Express group for achieving the International Press Institute India award.
As George Eliot says: 8216;8216;The reward of one duty is the power to fulfill another8217;8217;. May you always be blessed with the desire to speak out the truth. May you achieve still more awards for your honest work.

Damage control
8226; Apropos of 8216;Wisdom dons, BJP dumps DP8217; IE, February 25, better sense prevailed after all. But the BJP should have thought before it leapt to welcome D.P. It seems in its current state of 8216;8216;euphoria8217;8217;, the BJP is unrolling its red carpet for all, indiscriminately. Let8217;s not forget the way the very vocal Sushma Swaraj justified D.P.8217;s inclusion saying that the BJP is an 8216;8216;ocean8217;8217; in which even a polluted river is purified!

Party with edge
8226; Whatever the BJP8217;s critics may say, the party has been more sensitive than other parties to the feelings of its workers and other well-meaning people. It is the only political party which has understood the sage advice: 8220;when in a hole, stop digging8221;. That8217;s what gives it an extra edge.
