The directors of the six Indian Institutes of Management IIMs today launched what is being described a 8216;8216;common movement8217;8217; whereby the Institutes will work much closer and in tandem than before. A major focus of the two-day discussions here was on fee rationalisation, which means all IIMs would now have common heads on tuition fees and other charges levied on students.

In real terms, this might reflect in a marginal tuition fee hike for students seeking admission to two of the youngest IIMs, Indore and Kozhikode.

Bakul Dholakia, director IIM Ahmedabad, told The Indian Express: 8216;8216;We have finally arrived at a consensus on the same set of parameters on which we base our respective fee structure. It means that the fees charged by different IIMs would continue to be different8230;If a hike takes place8230;it will only affect the two youngest IIMs.8221; The directors will meet again in Indore in December.
