
Raj WestPower Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd, will set up a 1000 MW 8 units of 125 MW each lignite-based pithead power project in the Barmer district of Rajasthan at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje unveiled the foundation stone of the power plant last week.
8220;Lignite has been chosen as the primary fuel for the Barmer Project and the entire fuel requirement of the project of about 7.0 million tpa, is proposed to be sourced from the lignite mines at Jalipa and Kapurdi, located not too far away from the project site,8221; the company said.
