Jeev Milkha Singh, still looking for his first win since 1999, fired one-under 71 in the second round of the yen 120 million Coca Cola Tokai Classic here.

Jeev, who had shot a superb 65 in the first round, is now eight-under 136 and in tied second place with Sushi Ishigaki at 136.

This year, Jeev has had three top-10 finishes including a tied second at season-opening Okinawa Open, and four other finishes in top-25. He is 44th on the money list.

Jeev, the overnight leader, had five birdies and four bogeys in the second round, during which his putting was at best patchy.

Randhawa lying 27th

Jyoti Randhawa opened the $7.5 million World Golf Championships American Express Championship with an even par 70 round that placed him in the tied 27th place after the first round.

In a field that is quite easily one of the strongest in the world, Randhawa, the 2002 Asian Tour No.1, made a fine comeback on his second nine with three successive birdies from fifth to seventh.

Dilip, Gagan shine

New Delhi: Indian hockey captain Dilip Trikey and striker Gagan Ajit Singh are putting up a good show in the professional Dutch league in the Netherlands.

According to information received here, the players, who have been signed up by Klein Zwitserland club, have played two matches so far.

Their team drew the first match with Den Bosch (3-3) and won the second against Laren (5-4). — (PTI)
