PUNE, May 18: The Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena8217;s would be highlighting its 8220;permanent alliance8221; as against the Congress-Republican Party of India RPI-Samajwadi Party8217;s SP 8220;alliance for selfish motives8221; during the forthcoming by-polls for 10 assembly seats.

Disclosing this to media persons, Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde today criticised the Congress for failing to sustain the alliance, a major cause for its success during the last Lok Sabha elections. The Congress was unable to effectively perform the role of a big brother, he alleged.

He, however, admitted that a last minute seat adjustment was possible between the Congress and the RPI-SP, which were demanding one seat each including Ramtek constituency. The saffron alliance partners were approaching the by-polls with confidence since triangular contests in the State would be to their advantage, he claimed.

Munde said the recent cabinet reshuffle had ensured representation to four more districts and would also help to expand the alliance rulers8217; social base among the Neo Buddhist and Mali communities, whose representatives were awarded ministries.
