IPL alters guidelines, aims to end boycott

In the face of a boycott by the media protesting several restrictions on the coverage, the Indian Premier League governing body has agreed to drop the contentious clause in the guidelines relating to the uploading of photographs on the IPL website within 24 hours. The organizers are hopeful of resolving the issue soon.

Though no details were available on the actual understanding reached, IPL commissioner Lalit Modi confirmed that an agreement has been reached with news agencies and an amicable solution is expected to come up soon.

“Yes there has been alterations to the guidelines and we have had negotiations with PTI and IANS in a meeting to end the boycott. I am hoping things will be solved soon and already 1200 accreditations have been processed till today morning,” Modi told The Indian Express on Sunday.

The IPL has also made it clear that there would not be any restrictions on off-field photographs.
