NEW DELHI, AUGUST 30: The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) has severely condemned the attack on Swadesh, a daily in Jabalpur on August 14 where a few miscreants forced their way into the newspaper office and misbehaved with the employees. They also forcibly closed down the office and press and prevented the publication of the paper for a week. Condemning the attack, Mammen Mathew, President of INS, said that the act was an affront to the freedom of the press. The use of muscle power to close down any paper cannot be tolerated under any circumstances, he added.
