BANGALORE, FEB 9: Infosys Technologies Ltd has acquired an equity stake of 12.5 per cent in Jasdic Park Company of Japan. Having a total equity base of $2 lakh, Jasdic addresses the needs of the Japanese software market by undertaking projects on ERP, client server development and e-commerce.Apart from Infosys Technologies, two Indian companies - Satyam and DCM - and three Japanese firms - NTT Leasing Co Ltd, Duskin Co Ltd and Fukoka Clinical Pharmacy Pvt Ltd - are joint venture partners of Jasdic.According to Infosys Technologies chairman NR Narayana Murthy, the company is looking at a revenue of $2.5 million from this venture during the current fiscal. "The income from the Japanese venture is likely to go up further in the coming months," he added."In order to strengthen our capabilities, the membership is open to any other Indian companies who want to join the joint venture. Jasdic will be the facilitator for business relations between the domestic software firms and Japanese customers," JasdicPark Company chairman Kenichi Ohmae said.He told reporters that through Jasdic, Japanese companies can work through another Japanese company and still get the benefits that an Indian company offers in a working relationship.Having decided not to enter other markets, the company is looking at projects on datawarehousing, Internet, web-based customer interface and other advanced projects. "We are also visiting Infosys to assess recent developments in services, infrastructure, and other business critical factors," Ohmae said.
