Indians continue gold heist

NEW DELHI, APRIL 4: India took its tally to eight gold, 17 silver and five bronze medals at the Balco Asian Powerlifting Championship here today. In junior men8217;s Manoj Kumar Singh lifted 592.5 kgs to win the 60 kg class gold while Neeraj G added the second gold after an effort of 660 in the 75 kg category.

The silver were won by Ashok Kumar 67.5 kg, RD Mishra 82.5 kg, both in the junior section, and V Sri Kumar 60 kg, S Nadimuthu 67.5kg and S Bhagwati 82.5kg in seniors. The lone bronze came from Anuj Kumar Dixit in the 67.5 kg class in juniors.
