Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar.

Following is the forecast valid until the morning of July 25th. Rain/thundershowers at:

East: Many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar and a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa and Jharkhand.

North: Many places in east Uttar Pradesh+, Uttarkhand and a few places in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan.

Central: Many places in east Madhya Pradesh and a few places in west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chattisgarh.

Peninsula: Many places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka Kerala; a few places in Gujarat state, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka and isolatede plaes in Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.

Islands: Most places in Andaman and Nicobar and many places in Lakshadweep.

Temperatures recorded in four metropolitan centres were:

Kolkata: max 34 (+2 ) d c/ min 28 (+2 ) d c

New Delhi: max 35 ( n ) d c/ min 29 (+2 ) d c

Chennai: max 36 (+1 ) d c/ min 28 (+2 ) d c

Mumbai: max 32 (+2 ) d c/ min 26 (+1 ) d c.

The off-shore trough at sea level from Karnataka coast to Kerala coast now extends from south Konkan-Goa coast to Kerala coast.

The cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km a.s.l.

over east Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood persists. The cyclonic circulation over south Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood now lies over east central and adjoining southeast Arabian sea off Karnataka-Kerala coasts between 2.1 and 3.6 kms a.s.l.

A cyclonic circulation between 2.1 and 4.5 kms a.s.l.

lies over east central Arabian sea off Maharashtra-Goa coasts. The western disturbance and an upper air system over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir persists.

Above system is likely to move eastnortheastwards. The cyclonic circulations, one over Punjab and neighbourhood and other over Gujarat region and neighbourhood have become less marked.

Total rainfall during the past 24 hours at 179 available stations in the plains, out of 291 stations, is 151 cms.

Normal for the above 179 stations is 184 cms.

The southwest monsoon has been active in Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, east Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. It has been subdued in Haryana, west Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, Madhya Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka.

North: Most places in east Uttar Pradesh; many places in west Uttar Pradesh; a few places in Uttarkhand, Himachal Pradesh and isolated places in Haryana and east Rajasthan.
