India Shining slogan was a mistake: Advani

BJP admitted that its 'India Shining' slogan used during '04 LS polls was a 'mistake' and it 'should have been 'India Rising'.

The BJP on Monday admitted that its 8216;India Shining8217; slogan used in the run up to 2004 Lok Sabha elections was a 8216;mistake8217;.

8220;India Shining slogan was a mistake. The better slogan would have been India Rising8221;, Advani, who was Deputy Prime Minister during NDA rule when the slogan was coined, said.

The BJP and the NDA government led by the party had undertaken an aggressive 8216;India Shining8217; campaign before the last Lok Sabha polls before being voted out of power.
