Fielding coach Robin Singh says the Indian team has learnt their lessons from the Colombo Test and believes they can turn the tables in the second Test.

“Everyone is prepared in their own way. If each player plays well, if the openers are able to get a good start rest of the batsmen can follow,” he said.

“We were very low after the defeat in the last Test but we are mentally in a better shape right now. Everyone is trying to lift his game,” Robin said. “There have been a few lapses in the past that won’t be repeated. Most of the people are aware of their responsibilities. I feel we had a bad day (in Colombo) but we will come back strongly.”

Robin insists the players are putting extra effort to improve their catching as well. “As far as our fielding is concerned, Gambhir is working hard on close catches. In the last match, slip cordon was good. Dinesh Karthik had a bad match as a wicketkeeper. He dropped a few catches but it is a part of the game,” he said.
