Women’s Jr hockey Natls at Mumbai

NEW DELHI: Mumbai will host the 31st Junior National women’s hockey championship from September 22-30. The junior nationals will be played at Bombay Hockey Association’s astro turf stadium, a Indian Women’s Hockey Federation (IWHF) release said.

SI Ladies Golf

CHENNAI: Defending champion Parnita Grewal of Chandigarh, Sri Lankan Tuhasini Selvaratnam, Sruthi Khanna and Anjali Chopra of Delhi, Chennai’s Urvashi Sethi Sodhi, Lalitha Balasubramanian, 15-year-old Pragya Misra, Rupa Srinivasan and Sowmya Ramprasad would be vying for honours in the second AV Thomas-sponsored South India Ladies Amateur Open Golf Championship to be played at Cosmo Golf links from August 18-21. The 72-hole competition for golfers with a handicap of zero to 12, is the first of the categorised ladies tournaments in the Indian Golf Union Ladies Section.

NEW DELHI: India is sending a 13-member team for the Asian Body Building Championships in Taiwan from August26-31. Coach Suresh Kadam will lead a 10-member senior bodybuilders, two juniors and one master to the five-day meet in Taipei city.
