Gavaskar draws flak
NEW DELHI: The Billiards and Snooker Federation of India president Shantanand Sinha has blasted Sunil Gavaskar for his comments on the running of the billiards and hockey federations in the country. Sinha wondered whether Gavaskar was aware how a national sports federation was run and what are the constraints under which the federations are working.
“I don’t know if he is aware of the national sports policy or the guidelines of the government for running the national sports federations,” Sinha said in a statement. “Gavaskar should restrict his comments to cricket,” he added.
On Tuesday, Gavaskar drew flak from the IHF chief KPS Gill. “What does Gavaskar know about hockey,” Gill reacted angrily.
