CANBERRA: Australia continued its domination in the four-nation women8217;s hockey series today beating 1996 Olympic silver medallist South Korea 8-0 while South Africa beat India 3-1.

Aussie striker Alyson Annan continued her return to form from a seven-month injury lay-off, scoring two second-half goals in the space of a minute.Australia, which opened the tournament on Thursday with a 5-1 win over India, plays South Africa tomorrow.

Jeev shares 33rd spot with Olazabal

MUMBAI: India8217;s Jeev Milkha Singh shot a three-under 69 in the second round of the Fiat and Fila Open, being played at the CircoloGolf, Turin, Italy, to comfortably make his sixth cut in ten European PGA Tour events.According to information reaching here, the Chandigarh pro was tied for the 33rd place at four-under 140 along with such illustrious names as reigning and twice Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal and twice US Open champion Lee Janzen of the US.

CPT complete semifinal line-up

PATHANAMTHITTA: Cochin Port Trust CPT, the lone entry from the State, was the last team to fill the semifinal line-up in the men8217;s section of the 21st Federation Cup volleyball at Blessen George Stadium here today.

ISHAPORE West Bengal: Ishapore Rifle Factory, Ishapore, has developed a new kind of .22 sporting rifle of world class standard and the first batch of ten rifles was handed over to a renowned arms dealer of Calcutta here yesterday.

The Rs 23 thousand worth rifle has been certified fit for target shooting by the Hungarian coach, National Rifle Association of India and the manufactural process, completed in less than a year.

UPlads, Delhi girls corner glory

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh boys and Delhi girls shared titles at the evening session of the 20th junior boys and second junior girls National wrestling championship which concluded today. UP won the boys team championship in free-style with 73 points followed by Delhi 63 and Punjab 52 points. Delhi girls won the team championship with 72 points followed by Manipur and UP with 55 and 44 points respectively.

Maharashtra8217;s sole medal of the evening came from Anjali Deokar in the girls 54-kg category.
