JK lead driver, the former multiple National champion Hari Singh and navigator Gurinder Singh Mann, came in ahead of Team MRF’s Naren Kumar and D Ram Kumar, with over four minutes to spare.
SHIMLA: The Indian Women Hockey Federation (IWHF) today announced the team for the four-nation series, to be held in Australia from April 28 to May 9. The final selection trial was held at NIS, Patiala, yesterday. Teams from South Africa, Korea and Australia would also participate.

Women’s drive
CALCUTTA: For the first time in Eastern India, a women’s car rally will be held in the city on April 13. The rally will cover a distance of 80 km.
A total number of 50 to 60 cars driven by ladies from variouswalks of life, including fine arts, teaching, journalism, medicince, defence and law have confirmed participation, organisers said.
Lara named
MUMBAI: Brian Lara was unanimously selected the BPL player of the week (priz e of US$500) for the period from March 26 to April 1 for his stupendous performance against Australia in the ongoing Frank Worrell Trophy. Lara was clearly ahead of contemporaries Steve Waugh, Ajay Jadeja and Courtney Walsh.
Sharjah-bound
MUMBAI: The Indian cricket team will be leaving by an early morning flight for Sharjah from here tomorrow to take part in the three-nation Sharjah tournament. The players will assemble in Mumbai tonight. The Pakistan team will leave for Sharjah tonight by an Emirates flight.
