Pat Rafter to play in India

CHENNAI: First it was tennis icon Boris Becker, who accepted an invitation to play in Chennai. Now tournament manager Ravi Krishnan of International Management Group and tournament director Brian Cooney have pulled off another major coup. The hottest property in men8217;s tennis, Patrick Rafter, will be heading for the City and for the first time in the Open era, India will play host to reigning US Open champion.

Bal for Dhaka

PUNE: Nandan Bal, former Davis Cupper and presently the chief coach of Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association MSLTA, has been invited by the Bangladesh Tennis Federation to select the players for their Davis Cup squad.
