
Committee to probe Prabhakar8217;s conduct
MUMBAI: Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI president Raj Singh Dungarpur is likely to head a three-member special committee to decide whether Manoj Prabhakar8217;s actions constituted 8220;miscounduct8221;. The committee is expected to comprise BCCI chief, a senior member of the Board and also a former Test cricketer.
If found guilty, BCCI would punish the former India all-rounder by retaining the amount due to him from the Board as his part of the benevolent fund.
Harikrishna leads
BIKANER: Former world under-10 champion P Harikrishna assured himself of the title logging seven points in the 23rd National Sub-Junior u-15 Boys Chess Championship after the eighth round today.
M R Venkatesh TN, Bharat Gupta Raj, Akash Deep Har, Prathmesh Mokal Mah and Rahul Shandilya Bih were joint second with six points each.
Bihar beat Tripura
TIRUPATI: Holders Bihar thrashed Tripura 7-0 in the opening match of the eighth National sub-juniorhockey championship at the S V Arts College Grounds here today.
Bihar led 5-0 at half-time. Shakeel 2, Laddam 2, Bhim, Chikku, and Saddam scored for the winners in the Pool A match. In another Pool A match, Gujarat recorded a 2-1 victory over Hyderabad. Gadkari dead
PUNE: Former Test cricketer Lt Col retd Chandu Gadkari died after a brief illness here yesterday. Gadkari, 70, is survived by wife, a son and a daughter. After being commissioned in the Indian Army in 1949, Gadkari played for Services Sports Control Board and made his Test debut against the West Indies in 1953 under the captaincy of Vijay Hazare. Gadkari, an all-rounder, had also toured Pakistan in 1955 under the captaincy of Vinoo Mankad.
