Air service to Shirdi
Mumbai:
Gujarat Airways, a private airline, has tied up with Nomad Travels here for a weekly service to Shirdi with effect from July 3.

The 1900 D-Beech aircraft will leave Mumbai every Saturday at 1600 hrs, reach Nashik8217;s Ojhar airport at 1640. From there, passengers would be taken by road to Shirdi. They would be brought back the next day leaving Ojhar at 0900 hrs and reaching Mumbai at 0940 hrs, according to a release.

The cost of the package including accommodation and food is Rs 4,950 per person on twin sharing basis, the release said.

Prison warden suspended
Sangli:
The prison administration on Monday suspended warden Mohan Madane who allegedly left a prison cell open 8220;facilitating8221; the escape of Abhay alias Babya Janardan Sutar on Saturday.

Sutar is untraced, Sangli police said. He was arrested by Islampur police in January last in connection with the murders of Popat Thorat and Vilas Mohite.

Dudhni scheme
Pune:
The State Government has given an administrative approval to a Rs 2.35 crore water supply scheme for Dudhni town in Solapur district. The scheme is prepared by the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, an official communique said.

Mehta elected
Ahmednagar:
Sudhir Mehta was elected president of Ahmednagar Press Club on Sunday. Earlier, outgoing president Nandkumar Satpute, treasurer Ashish Tagade presented the annual report to the meeting.

Mehta felicitated Mahadev Kulkarni of Loksatta who recently was appointed president of Ahmednagar unit of the Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad. Nagesh Kesari, who was the returning officer, was also honoured.
