NEW DELHI, October 22: With just over a week to go for the Hero Honda Masters on their home turf, Indians struck fine form with three of them in the top six after first day8217;s action in the US 250,000 Dubai Creek Open on the Asian PGA Omega Tour.

Jeev Milkha, who has had a fairly good season and is lying second on the Omega Order of Merit 8212; but has failed to land any title on the tour so far 8212; shot a brilliant five under 67 to be one stroke adrift of the leader Ted Purdy. Jeev shared the second spot with Dominique Boulet of Hong Kong, who had an eagle, four birdies and a bogey for his 67. Jeev shot six birdies and one bogey, while Purdy had seven birdies and one bogey.

Making it a great day for Indian pros were Arjun Singh with four under 68, tied for fourth with Thai Supphavarangoon Veerawut, and Gaurav Ghei with a three under 69 was tied for sixth with nine others.

Amritinder Singh and Rajiv Mohta had par rounds and were tied for the 32nd spot with 11 others, while Vivek Bhandari had two over 74 and Jyoti Randhawa three over 75. The other Indians fared badly, as Arjun Atwal retired, while Amandeep Johl shot 76, Indrajit Bhalotia 77, Amit Chopra 78, Kanwar Sekhon 79, Ajay Gupta 80.

The Leaders: 66 Ted Purdy US; 67 Jeev Milkha Ind, Dominique Boulet HKG; 68 Arjun Singh Ind, S Veerawat Tha; 69 Gaurav Ghei Ind, Adrian Percy Aus, Des Terblanche SAF, Charlie Wi Kor, Brad Andrews Aus, Lu Wen Teh Tpe, Kim Young-il Kor, Craig Kamps SAF and Imdad Hussain Pak.
