CHANDIGARH, April 6: The members of the Hotel Workers8217; Union, Chandigarh, led a march to the office of Deputy Commissioner, in Sector 17, this evening, to protest against the non-implementation of their demands.

Union general secretary H. S. Gambheer said that it was their intention to pressurise the Administration to implement the labour laws which would help improve the working conditions in the thriving hotel industry in the city.

Referring to flying squad promised by a former DC of the city to ensure implementation of the Labour Laws, Gambheer said quot;Certain senior officials are creating obstructions. They do not want these laws to be implemented to serve their own interests,quot; he alleged.

Addressing the gathering, union president Parmanand Sharma said it was time the DC took stringent measures to implement labour laws in the hotel industry.
