iGATE Global Solutions is planning to increase its headcount in Bangalore to over 3,000 in the next few years. It also has plans of consolidating its staff in Bangalore to the new facility in Whitefield.
‘‘As a long-term proposition, we are looking to increase our people capacity in Bangalore to between 3,200 and 3,500. Worldwide too, the company is looking to go up to 7,500-8,000 people in next 2.5-3 years, from the present 3,200 employees worldwide,’’ Phaneesh Murthy, CEO of iGATE Global Solutions, told reporters here on Monday.
Murthy said the company would expand their centres in Hyderabad and Chennai in future. ‘‘We have expanded the Hyderabad facility. In Chennai, we have 7 acres and once we reach a critical point of 1,000 people in that city, we shall start the campus construction,’’ he said.
Currently, iGATE has 2,000 plus employees in India, including 925 in Bangalore, 550 in Chennai, 220 in Hyderabad and 450 in Noida.
iGATE inaugurated its new corporate headquarters at Whitefield, on the outskirts of Bangalore on Monday. The facility is spread over 14 acres with a built-up area of 100,000 square feet in phase I. ‘‘The investment made for phase I is Rs 30 crore and will house 900 employees, split across the process and operations.”
