GURGAON, June 12: The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) will provide essential services to 11 villages where it has acquired land, in a time-bound programme. This also includes provision for metalling the village streets, connecting sewerage lines and providing water supply to Kadipur, Daultpur, Mulahera, Dundahera, Sirhol, Sukhrali, Khandsa, Jharsa, Kanhai and Karterpuri villages.

Stating this here today, Deputy Commissioner Devender Singh said that since HUDA had acquired land in these villages, they were under obligation to provide essential services to the villagers.

“We will try to persuade private colonisers like Ansals, DLF, etc to provide such services to certain villages,” the Deputy Commissioner said.

He further informed that alternative agencies like the Public Health Department might be involved in these works since HUDA had its financial constraints.

The Deputy Commissioner said the state government had provided a grant of Rs 50 lakh for flood control measures in the district. He added that the health authorities had taken about 869 water samples for testing, out of which 304 were found to be of inferior quality due to lack of chlorination and one sample had failed because of its bacterial contents.
