How does a pressure cooker work?
Have you read that it takes long to cook food at high altitudes in places like Kargil? This is because at high altitudes, the air pressure is much lower than in the plains. As a result, the boiling point of water is lowered. Hence it takes much longer to cook food. In a pressure cooker, on the other hand, high pressures are built up within the vessels. This raises the boiling point of water. Food is cooked within minutes.

How can I improve my memory? My inability to memorise 8211; like certain biological terms has decreased my confidence. Do memory increasing capsules have any side effects? Jogging, exercising etc do help increase the oxygen consumption and increase the BMR. This is helpful in reducing weight, not adding weight. If the BMR is high, in spite of eating well, you may not add weight. But so long as you are healthy, you need not worry about adding weight.

Nutrition experts say that high protein breakfast helps to put on weight. You should have high protein content food first thing in the morning. Bengal gram chana or groundnuts, soaked overnight in water or a glass of milk is recommended.

But in the case of groundnuts, the skin has to be removed, as the skin has an enzyme called phytase which interferes with carbohydrate metabolism.By heating groundnuts, this phytase is destroyed. Consult a nutrition expert.
