House ransacked, set on fire

PANCHKULA, Jan 5: A Sector 8 house was reportedly ransacked and set on fire here last night. Police sources say that the owner of the house, S Wadhawan, along with his family is away on leave.

The exact loss will be determined only when the owners arrive.

It was only when the neighbourhood chowkidar had noticed smoke and raised an alarm that the fire was noticed. Heavy damage to furniture, wood-work and other furnishings is reported. The burglars had broken into the house from the rear.
