Sporadic fighting erupted between England supporters and French youths after England were knocked out of the Cup. England supporters stormed out of bars in the town centre of St Etienne and clashed with local youths of North African origin who had been chanting Argentina8217;.
Ten England supporters will appear in court on Wednesday charged in connection with incidents before and after their team8217;s defeat to Argentina. One of the supporters, Lloyd Delroy Nelson, 25, a Category C, or one of the most violent hoolgans, is charged with resisting arrest after hitting a French police man checking his identity.
Four England fans are charged with theft 8212; one for breaking and entry and three for stealing tickets with violence. Another youth was sentenced to a year in jail and banned from football stadiums for two years after stoning a Swiss national.
A court has sentenced a French youth to two years in jail for attacking a British football fan, snatching his car and extorting money. FaradZaidi, 26, was sentenced after forcing the Briton who was sleeping in his car to drive him out of town where he attacked him. He was picked up by police after crashing the car but one of his friends got away.
