Sending complaints to the Chief Minister via e-mail has become popular among the state. But these days the CM is bombarded with mails regarding individual problems such as water connections in suburbs. It seems the people of the state have lost faith in the lower level officials and decided to approach the CM directly.

What8217;s in a name?
The health department now has two bureaucrats with similar sounding last names- Nainta and Nanta. While B S Nainta IAS is posted as the secretary health, B M Nanta Senior HAS is posted as the project director, NRHM. The education department is already full of people with last names as Dhiman. Right from the minister to secretary, vice-chancellor and some other crucial posts have officers with last name as Katwal.

No result
The special committee was expected to give recommendations for changing the recruitment process of the lecturers at the Executive Council meeting last saturday. But nothing came out of it and neither was the report tabled.

Though the teachers and the students opposed it, it was hard to believe that this alone could have been the cause for the proposal to be shelved at this stage, when the university is preparing to make fresh recruitment.
