CHANDIGARH, Nov 18: Close on the heels of the molestation case against two City cops, a head constable was arrested along with another man this evening on charges of assaulting and injuring an industrialist’s son on Monday afternoon.
M. R. Mittal complained to the UT Home Secretary that Head Constable Ramesh Kumar and his nephew Ram Mer Singh attacked his son Puneet Mittal with an iron rod and lathis. He added that Puneet was taken to the GMC hospital in Sector 32, where doctors said his left arm was fractured.
Mittal added that the trouble began when he asked a tempo driver to move his vehicle parked in front of their factory in Industrial Area Phase II. "He misbehaved with me and tried to run away with the Tempo but on the intervention of others he apologised and the matter was settled," Mittal stated. He, however, added that minutes later, a scooter borne person alongwith three others came back in the same tempo armed with an iron rod and sticks and attacked Puneet. A case of causing grievous hurt has been registered on the orders of City SSP C.S.R. Reddy.
