PUNE, March 30: The Pune Municipal Corporation PMC has undertaken repair works of the road surface of the new Harris bridge at Dapodi for which one lane of the road will remain closed. The work is expected to be completed in the next one and half months.

The wearing coat of the road is to be repaired which will help prevent formation of potholes particularly during the rainy season. The closure of one lane of the road however is likely to severely affect traffic.

The corporation has urged vehicle owners to use alternative roads to prevent traffic congestion. Heavy vehicles coming from Mumbai and proceeding to Pune have been asked to use the westerly by-pass from Dehu Road and proceed via Balewadi, Baner, Pune University chowk, Ganeshkhind road, Simla office, and Government College of Engineering.

Truck drivers proceeding towards Ahmednagar and Pune have been asked to take a left diversion from the Lokmanaya Tilak chowk at Nigdi and proceed via MIDC road, Telco Pimpri, Landewadi, Bhosari, Nashik highway, and Alandi-Yerawada road to reach Ahmednagar and Solapur highways.

Only light vehicles have been asked to proceed towards the new Harris bridge.

The notice boards for vehicle owners have been placed at various places in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
