PARIS, MAY 28: Greg Rusedski8217;s chief weapon is not letting him down as he attempts to score a surprise win on the slow clay at Roland Garros.

The Canadian-born Briton has banged down the fastest serves at the tournament 8212; 221 km per hour.

The women8217;s two biggest servers came face to face today with Venus Williams taking on Australian Alicia Molik in a battle of 18-year-olds.

Venus has topped 182 kph with Molik reaching 177.

French power-hitter Amelie Mauresmo is only fourth-fastest behind Czech veteran Jana Novotna.

Full of wisdom?

Belgian teen Justine Henin really got her teeth into former world number one Lindsay Davenport, whom she came close to knocking out in three sets.

But the 16-year-old will lose a bit of her bite in the weeks ahead when she has all four wisdom teeth removed.

8220;I8217;ll have to have a bit of time off after that,8221; said Henin, who a fortnight ago won her debut tour event in Antwerp.

The surgery is likely to keep her out of Wimbledon.

Pampered players

Players at the French Open have access to almost every luxury at Roland Garros.

As well as having several restaurants to choose from, all kinds of gadgets have been installed in the players8217; area around the Suzanne Lenglen court.

The players can play with pinball machines and a host of arcade games featuring anything from electronic surfboards to jet-skis.

Three computer terminals connected to the internet also allow the players to keep in touch with family and friends via e-mail.

Steffi got a kick out of Bayern defeat

Five-time French Open champion Steffi Graf revealed she got a kick out of watching the Champions League final 8212; even though her favourite team, Bayern Munich, lost to Manchester United.

Steffi watched the match in her hotel room and ended up with a bruised toe.

8220;I fell over the TV,8221; said the German star sheepishly.

Graf was thunderstruck by United8217;s late win. 8220;I8217;ve never seen anything like it,8221; she said.
