LUDHIANA, Nov 19: The Punjab Youth Congress has charged Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal with blatant misuse of government machinery and violation of the code of conduct in the Adampur by-election.

PYC vice president Amarjit Singh Tikka, who has been given the charge of Zone No. 14 by the PPCC in Adampur, today alleged that senior civil and police officers, hailing from Adampur and adjoining areas in Doaba region, were camping in the constituency at the instructions of the Chief Minister to mobilise support for SAD (B) candidate.

Certain officers of the ranks of secretary and DIG, Tikka added, were using all tactics, promises of favours as well as intimidation to improve the prospects of Akali Dal nominee.

He said the Chief Minister was making all efforts to repeat what had happened in his home district Faridkot during the previous elections but the PYC and PPCC functionaries would make sure that such evil intentions of the ruling party remain unfulfilled.

Tikka claimed that results of Adampur byelection would surprise many and Congress candidate Kanwaljit Singh Lally would win with an impressive margin.
