CHANDIGARH, July 12: Fifth Annual Conference of the All India Blind Employees Association was held today at Sector-9, Panchkula.

Anurag Aggarwal, additional Deputy Commissioner, Punchkula, who inaugurated the conference said that all demands mentioned in the charter of demands given by the association will be considered.

Their demands include government accommodation for the blind employees on priority basis, change in the designation of peon, and filling up the vacancies of the blind teachers in the Government Blind Institution. They also demanded that the education standard should be improved in the government blind institutions, and private institutions be given financial aid.

In the election held today, Tulsi Ram was elected as the president and Phool Chand as the general secretary of the All India Blind Employees Association.
