Good response to Childline8217;

CHENNAI, May 3: The Chennai-based outreach programme for children, called Childline8217;, has attracted good response, with some 350 calls being received by the volunteers within three days of its launch. The NGOs, who can be accessed by dialling 1098, have received calls from children who are in distress, mostly medically, from parents seeking help with their retarded offspring and also from persons reporting child sexual abuse. Runaways have also been reported, and at least one such child is being escorted back to his parents in Gujarat.
