Mohd Kaif and Rohit Sharma crack big tons for their respective sides in drawn tie

They might have missed out on a spot in the Indian Test team, but Mohammad Kaif and Rohit Sharma certainly made merry by scoring big centuries for Air-India and Indian Oil respectively in the 8216;A8217; Division Times Shield Cricket Tournament on Wednesday.

Kaif8217;s innings of 150 off 250 balls, which included 20 fours and two sixes, was subdued compared to Sharma8217;s run-a-ball169, with five sixes and 14 fours.

Kaif shared a 289-run partnership with Prashant Naik to give Air-India the first innings lead against Central Railway at the BKC ground. Naik remained unbeaten on 150, as his team declared at 412 for 3. But it wasn8217;t enough to ensure a victory for Air-India, as they couldn8217;t bowl out their opponents in their second innings. Central Railway finished at 105 for 6.

Sharma8217;s century was also not good enough for Indian Oil to beat Western Railway at the Western Railway ground in Lower Parel, as the home team hung on to a draw. Indian Oil finished with 407 for 8 as the match came to an end.

DY Patil was the only team to record an outright victory, as they defeated Mumbai Police by an innings and 189 runs at their home ground in Nerul. The hosts declared their innings at 436 for 2, with Anand Singh 152 and Siddarth Chitnis 61 remaining unbeaten.

Facing a deficit of 274 runs, the policemen were bundled out for 185, with medium-pacer Ryan Ninan 4-39 and off-spinner Chitnis 3-36 sharing the spoils for DY Patil. The home team also was awarded a bonus point for winning by an innings.
