Bangalore, Jan 16: Rashid Byramji trained Gliding Away just about managed to win the 1600 metres Nagarhole Cup, a race for horses rated 40 and above, the main event of the races held here on Saturday.

Jockey Pesi Shroff took Gliding Away on a start to finish mission and the Steinbeck progeny came under pressure from Imperial Leader inside the final 200 metres. However, Shroff drove out the favourite with all the resources at his command and the filly held on to win by half a length.

Solo Act pipped Romantic Star for the third place.

Jockey Rajesh had a good day, booting home a nice-priced double through Veena8217;s Pet and Almaz.
