NEW DELHI, Sept 25: Lt. Gen. S Padmanabhan, general officer commanding-in-chief, Northern Command was today appointed general officer commanding-in-chief, southern command.

He would replace Lt. Gen. H M Khanna who has in turn been appointed GoC-in-C, Northern Command, an army spokesman said.
