AGP got a shot in the arm on Friday with BJP’s Dulal Chandra Baruah, Congress’ Nepal Chandra Das and trade union leader Amarjyoti Tanti joining the party. Talking to reporters at the AGP headquarters here after joining the party, Baruah said he quit the BJP on Thursday as it was ‘‘managed by a coterie in an autocratic manner with no room for democracy’’. ‘‘Old-time workers like Union Minister Bijoya Chakravorty, R.P. Sarma, Ramem Deka and myself who built up the party in Jorhat constituency were deprived of tickets to favour some outsiders who are doing business in Assam,’’ Baruah alleged.
