First epidemic forecast centre

SURAT, Aug 4: Gujarat Health Minister Ashok Bhatt announced that an epidemic forecast centre, the first of its kind in the country, would be set up in Ahmedabad soon.

Bhatt, here to attend a seminar on prevention of malaria and leptospirosis organised by the preventive social medicine department of the civil hospital said, the project being constructed at an estimated Rs 12 crore will be inaugurated on October two.

Bhatt said that a Rs 40 crore malaria control project would also be set up in Surat.
