Easy Executives

Salaries in India are among the lowest in the world according to the latest World Competitive Yearbook brought out by Switzerland-based International Institute of Management Development IMD. India has got a consolidated ranking of four in the 46 countries studied by IMD. A CEO in India for instance gets paid an annual gross salary of 54,388, while one in the US gets about 173,000. Russia was ranked number one, with its CEO salary being just 9828.

Switzerland is among the highest paying countries in the world, with its CEO getting 232,254 per year. This is about four times what an India CEO gets. While India has fared pretty badly in overall competitive terms, low salaries are an advantage for India. Its competitiveness is helped by the cheap costs of employing managers.
