CHANDIGARH, May 29: In a smooth operation, the Haryana State Drugs Control Department has unearthed alleged attempts of a Bahadurgarh-based firm to market its drugs through fake labels of leading pharmaceutical companies such as IPCA and Cadila.

Disclosing this here today, State Drugs Controller M.L.Garg said the accused, Charanjit Singh (owner of Medinn Laboratories), was caught when he was trying to enter Delhi at Tikri Border with a huge stock of drugs.

Later, the state police raided the company premises at Bahadurgarh and recovered a large stock of cartons, labels and drugs such as Perinorm tablets, Depin Retard tablets and Tipin tablets (some popular brand names of IPCA and Cadila).

While the entire stock of drugs, labels and cartons was seized by the police, 11 samples of drugs have been sent to the government analyst at Chandigarh for tests.

A case has been registered against the owner of Medinn Laboratories. The police are investigation the matter further.
