British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Wednesday urged Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to intervene again to halt the hanging of British national Mirza Tahir Hussain, scheduled during an upcoming royal visit. Blair warned of 8220;very serious8221; consequences if the execution were to go ahead on November 1, coinciding with a planned visit by Britain8217;s Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

8220;I hope even at this stage there is an intervention to ensure this does not take place. I think it would be very serious if it does,8221; Blair told the House of Commons. 8220;We will continue to make representations up to the last moment,8221; he said.
