PASTEL SHADES: G K Dhanoo, a Mumbai-based painter who has held 25 shows in the city till date, is having yet another exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery. He has an attractive and naturalistic style. Till June 22, 1997. Time: 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.

SOFT FOCUS: Nina Gimi says her paintings are narratives through which she tries to portray human nature. She maintains a soft texture, allowing the forms to merge and tell their own story. At Jehangir Art Gallery till June 21, 1997. Time: 11.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

GROUP SHOW: B Shankar, K Moorty and K C Murukeson are exhibiting their paintings and reliefs at Jehangir Art Gallery till June 22. Time: 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.

LOVE AND LAUGHTER: Rani Ne Game Te Raja, a Gujarati romantic comedy, is a love story with a background of generation gap between parents and children. Written by Vilopan Desai and directed by Amit Divetia, it stars Ketki Dave, Rasik Dave and Anurag Prappana. At Nehru Centre, Worli. Time: 7.30 pm.

EGO TUSSLES: Harin Thaker and Vandana Jhaveri present a Gujarati play, Abhimaan. A social drama, it is the story of the conflict between an egoist daughter-in-law and her warm-hearted mother-in-law. At Zaverben Hall, Ghatkopar. Time: 7.45 pm.

SOCIAL DRAMA: Pravin Solanki and Feroz Bhagat present Malva Jewa Manaso, a Gujarati play. Starring Feroz Bhagat, Sheetal Joshi, Shekhar Shukla and Pratap Sachdev, the music is by Rajesh Mehta. At Patkar Hall, SNDT at 3.30 pm and at Tejpal, Gowalia Tank at 7.45 pm.

GENERATION GAP: A Hindi play, Gandhi Viruddh Gandhi based on a Gujarati novel by Ajit Dalve. It is the story of real-life incidents between Mahatma Gandhi and his first-born, Harilal, who never got along. The cast includes Seema Biswas, Atul Kulkarni and Kishore Kadam. MUSICAL CHAIRS: Hosi Vasunia and Meher and Nosherwan Jehangir’s English comedy Don’t Dress For Dinner, is celebrating its silver jubliee. A nifty comic farce, it stars Hosi Vasunia, Farid Currim and Devika Shahani. At St Andrews, Bandra. Time: 7.30 pm.

BEST LAUGHS: Devendra Pem’s comedy All The Best about a blind, a deaf and a dumb man living together is being presented in English. At Rangsharada, Bandra. Time: 8.30 pm.

SOLO SHOW: Sudip Chatterjee is exhibiting his paintings in the city for the second time. Titled My Views, the show is on at Jehangir Art Gallery till June 29, 1997. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Lakshmi Rao will present a Carnatic vocal recital at Little Theatre, NCPA. Time: 6.30 pm.

A TOOTHY TALE: Androcles and the Lion, G B Shaw’s fable-based play is being staged by Motley. Directed by Naseeruddin Shah, the cast includes Ratna Shah, Jaimini Pathak, Karla Singh and Kenneth Desai. On June 23, 24 and 25 at Experimental Theatre. Time: 6.30 pm.
