Electrocution victim dies

Chandigarh, Sept 7: One of the three persons, who were admitted to the hospital on Saturday after they received electric shocks, succumbed to his injuries here last night at the Sector 16 general hospital here. The deceased, Pappu was about 16 years old and a resident of Sector 25 colony.

While the police have registered a case against the cable company for causing death by rash and negligence, no arrests have been made so far. The police raided the premises of the cable operator but failed to catch him.

According to police sources, Rajni 7 and Pappu had gone to get water from the public tap in the colony. They reportedly got an electric shock from a severed cable wire. Pappu, who was passing through, also suffered electric current.
