Last week, producer Ajay Bawa threw a press conference at which he screened a few scenes of his maiden venture Tadap being written and directed by Rohit Kaushik. The serial has been shot extensively in New York and New Jersey, which gives it a very different look. A serial being shot abroad is quite surprising but the producer happens to be a NRI and is settled in the U.S. of America. This is a tale of two countries, and it not only bridges two families across the two continents but also portrays the social norms, morality and the cultural crossfires. It stars Deepti Naval, Lilette Dubey, Ritu Raj, Parizaad, Imran Khan among others.

Talking of Ajay Bawa, we8217;d like to tell you that he is the same guy who was in the news a few months back when he was planning a project called Atmakatha which Ajai Sinha was to direct. It was to be shot in America and they had even finalised Nikki Aneja and Gracy Singh to play the lead roles. Somehow it all fizzled out and they went their separate ways for reasons unknown. But if insiders are to be believed, Sinha wanted to produce it himself he8217;d also produced Hasratein, in case you didn8217;t know which was not acceptable to Bawa. Given Hasratein8216;s success, this was definitely Bawa8217;s loss.

Two8217;s a crowd?
And so for some bad news. If it8217;s true. Shefali Chaya and Harsh Chaya are the talk of the industry now. No, they haven8217;t signed on a serial together nor has Shefali bagged any award. The reason is something different and we hope it8217;s false. The rumour making the rounds these days is that they have split up and are not living together any more. It8217;s quite difficult to believe because they have been so loving and caring whenever we have seen then together.

Out of gear
Ravi Gosain of Nigoda fame in Amanat is going through some real bad times. A week ago the poor guy8217;s car, a Maruti 800 got stolen. He had parked it outside his house at Four Bungalows in Andheri suburban Mumbai which he8217;d been doing for almost three years. Then one morning he gets the shock of his life to find his car missing. So these days he is back on his Hero Honda mobike which he used to ride when he was struggling to establish himself. And to add to his problems while he was about to start off at a green light, his cellphone slipped off and was crushed by a rickshaw. May be he should see a pundit or an astrologer.
