CHANDIGARH, June 9: Senior Superintendent of Police City C. S. R. Reddy has suspended a Sub-Inspector and a Constable after they were allegedly found drunk on duty.

Police sources said Sub-Inspector Darshan Singh and Constable Mewa Singh have been suspended for quot;grave misconduct and indisciplinequot;. Both of them were posted in the Police Lines.

The police received a call that two cops in uniform were strolling under the influence of liquor near the Sector 8 liquor vend. A Sub-Inspector was sent to the spot who got them medically examined from the Sector 16 General Hospital. The doctors declared them quot;drunkquot; following which they were suspended and a departmental inquiry recommended against the duo. Meanwhile, a Sub-Inspector Sat Pal, posted at Manimajra police station, has been sent to Police Lines.
