CHANDIGARH, March 4: Didar Singh and Amrit Kaur, accused under the Dowry Act, were today released on bail by UT Additional District and Sessions Judge G.S. Sandhu after they furnished bail bonds of Rs 20,000 each, along with one surety of the like amount.

Observing that the operation of lockers had already been sealed and hence there was no chance of tampering with the property, the Judge released Didar Singh and Amrit Kaur on bail.

Meanwhile, the anticipatory bail plea of Simrita Arora, sister-in-law of complainant Amita Sethi was today rejected by Additional District and Sessions Judge S.S. Lamba.

Stating that certain dowry articles still remained to be recovered and that the applicant had a joint locker in the UCO Bank with her mother, the Judge declined the bail plea.

Meanwhile, in another case, a Sector 44 resident, Shally Kukreja has reported to the police that she was harassed for dowry by her husband, Ajay Kukreja, father-in-law M.L. Kukreja, mother-in-law Santosh Kukreja, brother-in-law ijay Kukreja. All are residents of Saharanpur, in Uttar Pradesh. The police have registered a case.

Man admitted to PGI: An unidentified person was brought to the PGI in an unconscious condition here today. He was found lying in Kajheri, according to police sources.
