Big win for Dolors

Dolors United defeated Golden 20 4-1 in the Bombay Hockey Association league match sponsored by Punjab National Bankat the Khalsa College ground here today.

Allwyn Lasardo struck a hat-trick in Dolors8217; big win. Peter Rodrigues scored the opening goal with Lasardo scoring the other three. Vinay Rodrigues reduced the margin for the losing team.

YMCA basketball

The Bombay YMCA all-India women8217;s basketball event planned for early December by Ghatkopar YMCA has been put off. Fresh dates will be announced later. The event was cancelled as some teams invited to participate, including Kerala, had expressed their inability to make the trip, as they had to prepare for the forthcoming National championships. Meanwhile, the mini girls amp; boys, junior girls amp; boys and men8217;s event get under way today.

Vaze triumph

VG Vaze College, Mulund won the division final of the inaugural Multigames Inter-school shooting volleyball tournament by defeating Central Railways Employees School, Parel 16-6 16-0 today. Shooting volleyball, a rural sport included in the National School Games schedule, is played with a harder ballwith seven players in each side. Vaze will now represent Mumbai at the state championship at Buldhana from November 21.

Athletics meet
