A 60-Year-Old man was done to death by four of his sons, who were angry at being denied a share in the ancestral property. Dilip, Pratap, Ranjeet and Tiddu Mannewar attacked their father Shiv Dayal at Amaldiha village of Korba district in Chhattisgarh on Saturday after he asked them not to reap the crop from their family fields.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon when Shiv Dayal went to his farm with youngest son Chandan. Police sources said the other four sons were hiding in the vicinity and allegedly used bricks and lathis to attack the two. 8220;Furious at being deprived of their share, they attacked the duo with machetes. The attack resulted in the death of Shiv Dayal. Chandan sustained grievous multiple injuries and has been admitted to Bilaspur District Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical,8221; said Korba SP Himanshu Gupta.

Gupta said Shiv Dayal had disowned four of his sons, unhappy at their attitude towards him. 8220;The four were living separately, while Shiv Dayal was living with Chandan,8221; the SP added. Another of Shiv Dayal8217;s sons, Dara, is at present working in Jammu-Kashmir.

The accused were arrested from the scene of the crime itself. 8220;All four have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody. The body has been sent for postmortem and a case under Section 302 and 307 registered against the four,8221; Gupta added.
